Help & frequently asked questions
Tap anywhere on the line. A small pulse marks the spot, and a sheet opens where you can pick a photo from your library, write a note, or choose a mood. The moment anchors to the exact point in time you tapped — this morning, three years ago, or next weekend.
Drag left or right to travel through time — give it a flick and it glides. Pinch outwards to zoom in (moments spread out and appear as tappable bubbles) or inwards to zoom out (months compress into one swell).
Tap the Now button. It appears in the corner whenever you're away from the present, and flies you home to a 12-hour view centred on the current hour.
Zoom in until moments appear as bubbles, then tap one to open it full-screen. To remove it, tap the bin icon in the viewer and confirm. Deleting a photo moment never touches the original in your photo library.
Bubbles appear once you've zoomed in close enough (roughly when the visible window is under a few hours). Further out, moments are shown collectively as the height of the wave — pinch outwards to dive in.
Tideline stores your timeline on-device and syncs it through the private iCloud database of your own Apple Account. During the beta, sync is still being rolled out — if it isn't active in your build yet, your timeline is safely stored locally in the meantime.
Email tideline@anovelproject.com with the subject "Tideline beta". You'll receive a TestFlight invitation — install Apple's free TestFlight app, accept the invite, and Tideline appears with an Install button.
Tideline requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
We'd genuinely like to hear about it. Email tideline@anovelproject.com with what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. If you're on TestFlight, you can also send feedback (with a screenshot) straight from the TestFlight app.
